Homestuck made black/white duality themed winged canine characters carrying dead loved ones and I just couldn't stop myself from paying tribute.

Haha, WELL, I didn't intend for this to be a big piece actually. I restarted the coloring/painting of it three different times, getting progressively more realistic with each (the first attempt was quite stylized). Then it just became something nice I could chip at while in my stream to entice people to buy commissions. So the work ended up being very spread out as I worked on it for a half hour at the start of each stream then moved on to commissions. I guess it took about a month of little chunks like that, then when last week was fairly slow I got the rest of it done.

I also started it in Photoshop the first two times before moving to Sai. I just wasn't getting the 'color soup' effect I wanted. Decided now I much prefer Sai for figuring out colors and have started doing all my underpaintings in it. This was done all in Sai except for some post work.
